Ben Farrell MBE

Global CEO of CIPS

Ben’s leadership philosophy as CEO of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Chain (CIPS) is defined by the idea of “Moving Forward.” He believes the procurement and supply chain profession must take a leading role in sustaining businesses and economies, especially in a rapidly changing global environment.

With extensive experience across procurement, supply chain, membership organisations, digital transformation, and operations—most recently as Director of Operations, Planning and Delivery at the John Lewis Partnership—Ben is well positioned to drive this ambitious vision.

His early military career shaped his dynamic leadership style. Rising quickly to the rank of Colonel and serving as Commanding Officer of the Irish Guards, he was awarded an MBE at age 29. Beyond his corporate career, Ben is also active in the charity sector as Chairman of the Invictus Games Foundation Programme Board, Chairman of the Forces Employment, and founder of the Blackthorn Rally for army veterans.

Ben has consistently demonstrated the ability to turn ambition into meaningful impact. In an era of technological advancement, global interconnectivity, climate risk, and geopolitical uncertainty, he aims to position CIPS and the procurement and supply chain profession as global leaders shaping the future.
